Beyoncé had a terrifying moment during her concert in Houston, Texas, on Saturday night, when a technical mishap put her in a precarious situation, and now her team is speaking out.

While performing her hit “16 Carriages,” the red convertible that carries the superstar above the crowd during her show began to tilt dangerously. The prop, which is used to give Beyoncé a closer view of her fans as it hovers above them, threatened to throw the “Cowboy Carter” artist off the car and into the audience.

However, like the true professional she is, Beyoncé remained calm and composed as the car tilted, and she returned to the main stage to finish the performance without skipping a beat.

Beyoncé’s Team Addresses Mid-Air Car Malfunction During Houston Concert

After the show, Beyoncé’s team, Parkwood Entertainment, released a statement to address the incident. They confirmed that the mishap was due to a technical malfunction with the flying car.

“Tonight in Houston, at NRG Stadium, a technical mishap caused the flying car, a prop Beyoncé uses to circle the stadium and see her fans up close, to tilt,” the statement said, per Daily Mail. “She was quickly lowered, and no one was injured. The show continued without incident.”

As the car began to tilt, the “Single Ladies” singer called out to her crew to stop.

“Stop, stop, stop, stop,” she sternly commanded, her concern clear in her voice. The crowd, initially stunned, erupted into a mix of cheers and shouts as the vehicle, attached to various cables, was safely lowered back to the stage.

Despite the frightening situation, Beyoncé appeared unfazed while in the car.

“I wanna thank y’all,” Beyoncé told the audience, expressing her gratitude for their support. “If ever I fall, I know y’all will catch me,” she added, showing her unshakable confidence.

Social media users quickly shared footage of the incident, with reports from the Houston Chronicle noting that her car had stopped moving mid-air before the malfunction occurred.

This isn’t the first time Beyoncé has faced technical difficulties during her “Cowboy Carter” tour.

Back in May, during the final show of her five-night run in Los Angeles at Inglewood’s SoFi Stadium, she experienced a malfunction with a robotic arm.

The robot, intended to pour a drink for the singer, missed its mark and spilled liquor all over her golden throne. Beyoncé was left surprised and slightly embarrassed, but like always, handled the situation with grace and humor.

This is by far the first time Beyoncé has made headlines recently.

As The Blast reported, the singer faced intense criticism from her progressive fanbase after wearing a controversial T-shirt during her “Cowboy Carter” tour stop in Paris. The 43-year-old music icon, known for using her platform to address social issues, has sparked outrage with her choice of attire, which featured the image of the Buffalo Soldiers, African American soldiers who served in the U.S. military after the Civil War.

While many initially assumed the shirt was a nod to an often-overlooked piece of Black history, critics quickly pointed out the troubling implications tied to the Buffalo Soldiers’ legacy.

The Shirt Featured A Controversial Historical Reference And Text

In the late 1800s, the Buffalo Soldiers were deployed to fight against Native Americans during the Indian Wars, siding with European colonizers during the westward expansion of the United States. Their involvement in these violent and controversial conflicts raised serious concerns over the appropriateness of such an image being used for fashion.

What caused even more outrage was the text featured on the back of Beyoncé’s shirt, which included a passage referring to Native Americans and others as enemies of “peace, order, and settlement.” The full excerpt, shared by fans online, read:

“Their antagonists were the enemies of peace, order and settlement: warring Indians, bandits, cattle thieves, murderous gunmen, bootleggers, trespassers, and Mexican revolutionaries.”

Despite these hiccups, Beyoncé continues to deliver high-energy, flawless performances.
