Aamir Khan’s new film Sitaare Zameen Par, inspired by the Spanish movie Champions, is directed by R.S. Prasanna. Aamir promoted it widely, and Genelia stars opposite him. Let’s see how well the audience receives it.

Sitaare Zameen Par Movie Story: Delhi basketball junior coach Gulshan (Aamir Khan) gets suspended from his job after a fight. On the same day, he drinks and drives, crashes into a police car, and loses his license. As punishment, the court orders him to coach specially-abled kids in basketball for three months.

With no other choice, he starts training the kids. What challenges does Aamir face there? What does he learn from those children? The movie “Sitaare Zameen Par” answers these questions.

Performances: Usually, in his movies, Aamir Khan takes the spotlight and dominates the screen. But for the first time, he gave space for other actors to shine. We don’t know how or from where he selected the special kids, but all of them performed wonderfully. Their roles were not only emotional and heart-touching but also made the audience think about life and the way we see the world.

Genelia also impressed in a good role with her emotional scenes and perfect comic timing.

Technical Aspects: Srinivas Reddy’s cinematography is decent, and the music trio did a good job with the background score. They succeeded in highlighting the emotions in key scenes.

Director R.S. Prasanna deserves a lot of appreciation. Handling so many specially-abled kids and getting natural performances from them is not an easy task. Also, the film gives a touching message, that winning isn’t everything, it’s about enjoying the journey, and this message connects well with the audience.

Analysis: “Sitaare Zameen Par” reminds us of the beauty of innocence in a fast-paced world where even kids act like adults. The film leaves you with a warm and fulfilling feeling.

Verdict: ‘Sitaare Zameen Par’ is a heartwarming and meaningful film that beautifully blends emotions, innocence, and inspiration. With strong performances, especially by the specially-abled kids, and a thoughtful message, it’s a feel-good watch that touches both the heart and mind.

Bottom Line: Innocent, emotional, inspiring, and heartfelt journey.

Rating: 3/5
